1:1 EYFS Support Assistant – Southwark

Location: Southwark, South East London
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: £90–£100 per day (PAYE – no umbrella deductions)
Start Date: Immediate

Protocol Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Support Assistant to join Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) classrooms in mainstream primary schools across Southwark.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to a pupil requiring additional guidance, helping to establish positive routines and promote learning and social development within a nurturing classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, 1:1 support to a pupil in Reception or Nursery

  • Assist with access to learning, emotional regulation, and daily routines

  • Collaborate with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver individual learning strategies

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement through structured and play-based activities

  • Support behaviour management in line with the school's policies and values

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children in EYFS or a similar early years setting

  • Demonstrate a calm, patient, and proactive approach

  • Show strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with pupils and staff

  • Be committed to inclusion and safeguarding best practices

  • Thrive in a collaborative, child-centred environment
