We’re supporting a specialist school in Durham who are looking for a calm, confident 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant to work closely with a pupil who needs consistency, patience, and a trusted adult by their side.

This role is all about relationships. You’ll be supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and day-to-day learning, helping the pupil feel safe, understood, and ready to engage.

You’ll be great for this role if you:

  • Have experience with behavioural needs, SEND, SEMH, or trauma-informed support

  • Stay calm when things feel challenging and don’t take behaviour personally

  • Are patient, resilient, and genuinely care about making a difference

  • Enjoy working 1:1 and being that steady presence in the classroom

School-based experience is ideal, but we also welcome candidates from care, youth work, mentoring, or support backgrounds.
