As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you’ll cover lessons, lead interventions and keep classrooms running smoothly when teachers are out. You’ll be trusted. You’ll be valued. And you won’t be left to figure it out alone.

What you’ll be doing as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA):

• Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, KS2 or KS3
• Covering whole classes when required
• Leading small group interventions to raise attainment
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
• Working closely with teachers and senior leaders

Schools in Sunderland are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) who can build strong relationships quickly and bring calm, consistent energy to the classroom.

What we’re looking for:

• HLTA status or equivalent classroom experience
• Strong behaviour management
• Confidence leading a class independently
• A positive, adaptable attitude

SEND experience is a bonus, but not essential.
