A primary school in Withywood is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs within a specialist nurture provision.

About the School

This is a mainstream primary with an on-site nurture base supporting children who need extra emotional and behavioural support. Class sizes are small, routines are consistent, and staff are trained in trauma-informed approaches.

Leadership are realistic, supportive, and understand that behaviour is communication.

Your Role

  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation

  • Using de-escalation strategies

  • Supporting learning in small groups

  • Building strong, trusting relationships

  • Working closely with pastoral staff and teachers

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience with SEMH or challenging behaviour

  • Calm, grounded and emotionally steady

  • Clear communicator

  • Team player
