Primary Teaching and Learning Assistants Special Needs

You’re the calm voice. The steady presence. The one who notices the small wins others might miss.

A welcoming primary school in Hartcliffe is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil with autism on a 1:1 basis from February.

About the School

This is a warm, community-led primary with a genuinely inclusive ethos. SEND isn’t an afterthought here, it’s embedded in everything they do. The SENCO is visible, hands-on, and big on communication. You’ll never be left guessing what the plan is.

Staff describe the school as supportive and honest. There’s structure, clear routines, and a team who check in on each other.

Your Role

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support in class

  • Supporting transitions and structured routines

  • Using visual timetables and sensory strategies

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

  • Building trust, confidence, and emotional regulation skills

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children with autism

  • Calm, patient and emotionally intelligent

  • Confident with boundaries and positive reinforcement

  • Genuinely passionate about helping children thrive

If you’ve worked in primary, SEND, care, or youth support, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now or give the branch a call on 0117 945 3960 for a friendly, no-pressure chat about the roles.
