The Role

An ambitious 11–19 secondary school in Northumberland is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of History to join its successful Humanities department. The role involves delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 teaching for experienced candidates.

You will encourage students to think critically, analyse evidence and develop a deep understanding of historical events and their impact on the modern world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons

  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

  • Develop students’ analytical and evaluative skills

  • Assess, monitor and track pupil progress

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Strong subject knowledge in History

  • Ability to inspire curiosity and critical thinking

  • Commitment to high standards and inclusive practice

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
