We are seeking a committed and inspiring SEND Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and support for students in our ARP (Additional Resource Provision). The postholder will provide tailored lessons, interventions, and resources to ensure students with SEMH, communication, interaction, behavioural, and other SEND needs achieve academically, socially, and personally.

You will work closely with the Head of ARP and the Inclusion team to plan and deliver lessons, track student progress, and adapt strategies to reduce barriers to learning. The role is pivotal in preparing students to be independent learners, capable of success both in ARP and mainstream lessons.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and support for ARP students, and mainstream classes when required.

Plan, resource, and deliver lessons and interventions tailored to individual needs.

Support students’ personal development, independence, and wellbeing.

Work collaboratively with ARP, curriculum, and Inclusion teams to provide personalised learning pathways and interventions.

Track student progress, analyse data, and adjust teaching strategies as needed.

Provide pastoral support and act as a tutor for an identified cohort.

Contribute to curriculum development, lesson planning, and ARP resourcing.

Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and inclusion across the school.

Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support students’ needs.

Participate in professional development, appraisal, and training programmes.

Uphold safeguarding, health, and safety standards at all times.

Person Specification

Qualified teacher status (QTS) with relevant degree.

Strong understanding of SEND provision, SEMH, and inclusion, in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015).

Evidence of continuing professional development in SEND or related areas.

Knowledge, Skills & Understanding

Strong classroom practitioner with knowledge of assessment, differentiation, and effective learning strategies.

Knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to SEND, safeguarding, and inclusion.

Understanding of barriers to learning and strategies to promote equality and social inclusion.

Effective ICT skills and ability to produce clear, accurate reports and communications.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
