We are working with a large, well-established 11–19 secondary school in Northumberland to appoint a Teacher of English. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive department committed to delivering a broad and engaging English curriculum across KS3–KS5.
The successful candidate will inspire a love of reading and writing, support strong academic progress, and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Strong leadership and clear behaviour systems
Collaborative and well-resourced English department
Focus on academic excellence and pupil wellbeing
Supportive environment for ECTs and experienced teachers
Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons
Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Assess, monitor and track pupil progress
Contribute to curriculum development
Support enrichment opportunities within the department
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong subject knowledge and passion for English
Ability to engage and motivate secondary pupils
Commitment to high expectations and inclusive practice
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
