The Role

We are working with a well-established and ambitious 11–19 secondary school in Northumberland to appoint a Teacher of Computer Science. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking department committed to delivering a rigorous and engaging Computing curriculum across KS3–KS5.

The successful candidate will teach a broad range of topics including programming, algorithms, data representation, cybersecurity and computational thinking. You will play a key role in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science, while promoting digital literacy and problem-solving skills across the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

  • Teach programming languages such as Python and core theoretical concepts

  • Prepare pupils effectively for GCSE and A-Level examinations

  • Differentiate to meet a range of learning needs

  • Assess, monitor and track student progress

  • Contribute to extracurricular or enrichment opportunities in Computing

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science

  • Experience teaching GCSE (A-Level desirable)

  • Confident classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management

  • Commitment to high standards and inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
