Looking for a role where you can genuinely shape inclusive practice, not just maintain it?
We’re working with a forward-thinking primary academy that’s on a real journey of change. There’s energy, ambition, and a clear focus on building a strong community where every pupil feels seen, supported, and able to thrive.
If you’re an experienced SENCo who still loves being in the classroom and wants to drive meaningful, sustainable improvement, this could be the next step for you.
This is not a desk-only SENCo post.
You’ll be a classroom practitioner first and foremost, someone who’s curious about pedagogy, passionate about inclusion, and confident in coaching colleagues to meet diverse needs effectively.
You’ll:
Lead and develop SEND provision across the academy
Support teachers with high-quality, inclusive teaching strategies
Shape and implement SEND policies and procedures
Develop and review EHCPs that genuinely reflect pupils’ needs
Work closely with families and external professionals
Champion speech, language, cognition and learning support within a diverse school community
This setting serves a richly diverse cohort, with multiple languages spoken and a wide range of additional needs. You’ll need to be proactive, thoughtful, and confident in adapting provision to remove barriers to learning.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who sees inclusion as a whole-school responsibility and wants to bring people with you on that journey.
This role is ideal for:
An experienced SENCo ready for a fresh challenge
A strong classroom teacher stepping into, or continuing in, a leadership role
Someone who wants the autonomy to make thoughtful, evidence-informed improvements
If you’re the kind of leader who rolls up their sleeves, builds trust, and keeps pupils at the heart of every decision, you’ll fit right in.
This is a school that’s evolving with purpose. They’re investing in doing things properly, and they need a SENCo who’s ready to help shape that future.
If this sounds like the kind of impact you want to make, let’s talk.
