What the Role Involves

As a SEND Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils who need additional support in the classroom. This may include:

• Supporting a child 1:1 during lessons

• Helping pupils stay focused and engaged

• Encouraging positive behaviour

• Supporting children with social and emotional development

• Working alongside teachers to adapt learning activities

The most important part of this role is building strong, trusting relationships with children. Your patience, calm approach and encouragement will help pupils feel safe and confident in school.
