Protocol Education is partnering with a primary school in BS31 to recruit a caring, dependable and fully qualified Year 5 Teacher, ready to step in after half-term.

We’re looking for someone who understands how important the transition through Upper Key Stage 2 really is. Year 5 is a pivotal year, and you’ll be someone who can guide pupils with calm confidence, consistency and warmth. You’ll recognise the balance between challenging children academically and providing reassurance as they develop independence and resilience.

With the role starting after half-term, now is a great time to secure your next opportunity. We focus on matching you with a placement that aligns with your experience, teaching style and career goals. It’s about making sure you are the right fit for the school, and the school is the right fit for you.

In your role, you’ll deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across the Year 5 curriculum, building confidence in reading comprehension, writing skills, mathematics and problem-solving. You’ll create a purposeful, positive classroom environment where curiosity is encouraged and resilience is developed. From whole class teaching to targeted support, you’ll help pupils navigate more complex concepts, prepare for SATs and embrace greater responsibility with confidence.

You’ll join an ‘outstanding’ rated Ofsted school where teamwork is valued, leadership is encouraging, and staff wellbeing is prioritised. It’s an environment where your professional judgement is trusted, your contributions are recognised, and both academic and personal progress are celebrated.

If you’re ready for a fresh start after half-term and want to make a meaningful impact in Year 5, this could be the perfect next step.
