1:1 Teaching Assistant

Are you the calm in the storm?

We’re looking for an experienced ASD support professional to work 1:1 with a child in a welcoming primary school in BS5. This isn’t a “sit at the back and observe” kind of role. You’ll be right there, building trust, spotting triggers early, and using confident de-escalation strategies to keep learning on track.

The child you’ll be supporting needs consistency, patience, and someone who truly understands behaviour linked to autism. If you’ve worked with ASD and feel confident managing challenging behaviours, this could be a brilliant fit.

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day

• Using proven ASD strategies and behaviour support techniques

• De-escalating situations calmly and safely

• Working closely with the SENCO and class teacher

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience supporting children with ASD

• Confident behaviour management and de-escalation skills

• A steady, resilient, and nurturing approach

• Experience in primary or SEND settings
