Bristol £13.75 - 14.75 per hour + PAYE & £250 for Teacher Referral Part Time Teaching 311021123 Posted 2 weeks ago
At Protocol Education, we know that strong phonics foundations change everything. In Key Stage 1, those early reading skills unlock confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning. For some children, especially those with additional needs, mastering phonics takes targeted, consistent and specialist support.
That’s why we’re focused on recruiting skilled Phonics Intervention Specialists who understand just how crucial these early steps are. We’ll match you with KS1 roles that suit your experience, strengths and availability, and you’ll be supported by a consultant who genuinely understands early literacy and structured intervention work.
These roles are ideal for Teaching Assistants and support staff with hands-on experience delivering phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds, Little Wandle or similar structured schemes. You might have supported pupils who are struggling to blend, segment or retain sounds, or worked with children who need phonics taught in a more personalised, multi-sensory way.
You’ll work closely with class teachers and English leads to deliver targeted one-to-one and small group interventions, helping pupils close gaps, build fluency and grow in confidence. Often starting after half-term, these roles are focused, purposeful and hugely rewarding.
In KS1, phonics isn’t just about passing the screening check. It’s about giving children the tools to access the whole curriculum. It’s about that moment when blending finally clicks. It’s about watching a child realise, “I can read this.”
If you’re passionate about early literacy and love seeing those lightbulb moments happen, this could be the perfect next step for you.
