Primary SEN Support Teaching Assistant

At Protocol Education, we know that supporting children with additional needs in Key Stage 1 is skilled, patient and incredibly important work. These are the years where confidence, communication and a love of learning are built, and the right support can make all the difference.

That’s why we focus on recruiting dedicated and experienced SEN Educators who are passionate about helping younger pupils thrive. We’ll match you with KS1 roles that suit your experience, strengths and availability, and you’ll have ongoing support from a consultant who genuinely understands SEN in early years and primary settings.

These roles are ideal for SEN Teaching Assistants and support staff with experience working in KS1 or with young children with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or complex learning difficulties. You’ll work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide consistent, tailored support, often on a one-to-one or small group basis, with the role starting after half-term.

In KS1, progress isn’t just academic. It’s learning to regulate emotions, developing early phonics skills, building friendships, gaining independence and feeling safe in the classroom. Your role will be hands-on, nurturing and structured, helping children engage with learning in ways that work for them.

If you’re looking for a role where small wins mean everything and relationships come first, this could be the right next step for you.
