About the Role

We’re seeking an SEMH Support Worker to join a nurturing alternative provision in Sunderland. You’ll be supporting pupils who benefit from structure, patience, and trusted adults who stay calm under pressure.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs through structured routines
  • Using positive relationships to build engagement and resilience
  • Assisting with vocational sessions, classroom tasks, and outdoor learning
  • Tracking progress and sharing updates with staff

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with young people facing SEMH barriers
  • An empathetic approach with strong listening skills
  • Confidence using clear boundaries and restorative practice
  • Reliability and commitment to helping pupils make progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
