Secondary Teacher Geography Teacher

We’re working with a forward-thinking secondary academy built around a simple but powerful purpose, helping pupils enjoy learning, aim high, and feel valued every single day.

Everything here is shaped by three shared values: Aspiration, Respect and Excellence. And they’re not just words on a wall. You feel it as soon as you walk through the doors. There’s pride. There’s warmth. There’s a genuine sense that everyone belongs.

The role

This is a Geography teaching role across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach A Level Geography for the right candidate.

The Geography curriculum is carefully sequenced and ambitious. It blends physical and human geography, local and global perspectives, and encourages pupils to think critically about the world around them. Climate change, development, migration, sustainability, place and identity, it’s all explored through enquiry, debate and evidence-based thinking.

This isn’t about racing through content. It’s about meaningful understanding. Helping pupils connect what they learn in the classroom to the real world beyond it.

The department

You’ll be joining a welcoming and collaborative Humanities faculty made up of Geography, History and RE specialists. It’s a team that plans together, shares ideas openly, and genuinely supports one another.

Whether you’re an ECT building confidence or an experienced teacher looking for a school that trusts your professional judgement, you’ll be encouraged to teach with creativity and clarity. There’s space here to grow, refine your craft, and feel valued as part of the team.

The wider academy

One of the academy’s real strengths is its year-based system, creating a nurturing environment where pupils feel known and supported throughout their time in school. Older students step into leadership roles, model positive behaviour, and help run events, all grounded in those shared values of aspiration, respect and excellence.

Beyond the classroom, there’s a strong extra-curricular offer across sport, creativity and academic enrichment. Fieldwork, geography clubs, trips, wider reading, there’s room to bring the subject to life in ways that feel authentic. Staff are encouraged to get involved in ways that suit them, no pressure, just opportunity.

Start dates

Flexible start dates are available from January 2026, April 2026 or September 2026.

Applications are welcomed from both ECTs and experienced Geography teachers.

What you’ll need

  • UK QTS, or on track to achieve it

  • A genuine love for Geography and strong subject knowledge

  • The ability to build positive relationships and spark curiosity about the wider world

  • A commitment to inclusive, values-led education
