Are you a Psychology graduate with QTS looking for a structured and supportive environment to complete your ECT year?

This welcoming Gateshead primary school (approximately 320 pupils) has built a strong reputation for its calm learning environment and clear behaviour systems. The Senior Leadership Team places high importance on supporting Early Career Teachers with manageable workload expectations and regular feedback.

They are seeking an ECT to teach a Year 3 class, working closely with an experienced phase leader and SENCO.

The Role:

  • Teaching a Year 3 class

  • Delivering structured core and foundation lessons

  • Supporting pupils with varying academic needs

  • Implementing consistent behaviour strategies

  • Engaging with parents and carers

What’s Already in Place:

  • Weekly ECT mentor meetings

  • Shared planning across the phase

  • TA support for targeted interventions

  • Clear safeguarding and pastoral structures

Essential Requirements:

  • QTS

  • ECT status

  • Psychology or related degree welcomed
