We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs within a large 11–19 secondary school in Northumberland. This role involves providing consistent, tailored support to help a young person access learning, build confidence and regulate emotions throughout the school day.
You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCO and pastoral teams to implement personalised support strategies and promote independence.

£95 – £115 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience
Inclusive 11–19 secondary setting with sixth form
Strong SEN and pastoral support structures
Clear behaviour policies and consistent routines
Supportive and collaborative staff team
Focus on progress, wellbeing and personal development
Provide dedicated 1:1 classroom support
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Implement strategies from EHCPs or support plans
Monitor and record pupil progress
Experience supporting young people with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning needs)
Patient, calm and empathetic approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to remain consistent and resilient
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
PAYE only – no umbrella companies
