School Trip to Oxford University

19/10/17

Protocol helped with sponsoring an exciting trip to Oxford for children from Edinburgh Primary School and Rajia, our London Sales Team Manager, decided to join them on this adventure.

I have been working with Edinburgh Primary School in Waltham Forest for the past 4 years and as part of our ongoing partnership I have also volunteered as a Teaching Assistant in their classrooms.

On the 9th of October I joined the school on their trip to the University of Oxford that we helped to sponsor. I felt very privileged to spend time with a selected group of 25 KS2 children (the school had to choose from over 100 received applications!). Over 90% of the pupils come from a wide range of minority ethnic heritages. Around 80% speak English as a second language and more than 40 languages are spoken by the families of pupils at the school.

Thanks to this partnership the school becomes accessible for these children and helps them boast higher aspirations! Leadership at Edinburgh Primary School is outstanding and the headteacher, staff and governors share a common and ambitious vision for the school, its staff and the community. Below is a photo of me with the Deputy Head, Mrs Jheeta!
