Christmas Gift Survey Results

We wanted to get to the bottom of the gift bag and find out the truth behind contemporary gift giving practices, here’s what we found:

Regifting
A whopping 78% of you admit to regifting. Let’s hope you follow the rules

Acceptability of gifts

Socks – 93% Acceptable
A Christmas staple that won’t be budged, the Christmas sock isn’t going anywhere soon, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Vouchers – 82% Acceptable
Nothing says I have spent an acceptable amount of money without really having to think about it, it is believed that this was the gift that the 4th Wise Man was bringing baby Jesus, but he got delayed and never made it to the manger.

DVD – 87% Acceptable
Surprisingly, the DVD holds up very well in our survey, once a nailed-on staple of any Christmas stocking, the demise of Virgin Megastores and most HMVs from our high streets, has seen the numbers of DVDs sold decline in recent years.

Service Station Flowers – 13% Acceptable
13%? What were you thinking? It should be 100% unacceptable! If a service station is the only option, sweets, car fresheners or USB chargers are all superior choices

Charitable Donation in Your Name – 63% Acceptable
Oh, this split the crowd. Of course, everyone wants children to have Polio vaccinations or families to have goats, but what if you like stuff? Help is at hand here are things you can buy that help other people

Best and Worst (or weirdest) Gifts Received
There were some very lovely and thoughtful gifts, but equally, there were some really, really weird ones too! We won’t go into too many details but would love to know the thinking behind the gifting of a toilet brush, but perhaps some corners of the human mind are best left unexplored.

Merry Christmas to you all!
