Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a Youth Worker to provide support in a SEMH school in the Telford area to start immediately.

The school are a independent specialist school providing support to students aged 6-16, with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be helping across the campus, working 1:1 or in groups to provide support to the students through providing specialised approaches to learning.

Previous experience of working in a SEN setting or with SEN needs is preferred.

The successful applicant will:

  • Deal with situations calmly and sensitively
  • Be creative and ‘think outside of the box’ in their approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Care deeply about pupils academic, emotional, and personal development and have empathy for their individual circumstances 
  • Have a supportive and encouraging attitude, to inspire trust and to motivate students
  • Be confident in working closely with other staff and parents to bring about positive change for each child 
  • Be able to use their initiative in meeting the needs of the student, depending on their individual communication, and learning skills

  • Duration / Likely Duration - Long term, dependent on performance
  • End date (if applicable) – July 2023, subject to review
  • Full time/part time
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 3:30pm
