Do you have experience and training working within Residential Care?
We are looking for an outstanding Support Worker to work with young people aged generally between 16 - 25 who have learning disabilities and challenging behaviours.
Your contract will initially be short term (12 - 16 weeks) and will be based on a regular working week (hours / times).
So, what is the role of a Support Worker?
Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.
Providing educational support for various academic qualifications.
Supporting and helping with health care needs.
Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills.
Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
Is it for me?
Do you hold a healthcare qualification and looking to gain experience in an educational setting?
You must be a clear and confident communicator with the ability to inspire and motivate young people.
Have access to your own transport (desirable but not essential).
Must be reliable, efficient, and trustworthy.
Must be able to apply and pay for a DBS that is clear of criminal convictions etc (if not already obtained).
