Year 5 Teacher

Do you thrive on helping pupils reach their full potential and take pride in seeing them grow in confidence and independence?

A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Watford is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Year 5 Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a pivotal year in a child’s education, where pupils begin to consolidate their learning, develop greater independence, and prepare for the academic and personal challenges of Year 6.

In this role, you will deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across the curriculum, ensuring pupils build strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics while also fostering curiosity and a love of learning in subjects such as science, history, and geography. You will play a key role in nurturing resilience, encouraging critical thinking, and supporting pupils to become confident, self-motivated learners.

The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos, supportive leadership team, and collaborative staff culture. You’ll be joining a team that values innovation, shares best practice, and is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for every child. High-quality planning support, excellent resources, and ongoing professional development opportunities are all part of the package.

✨ Full-time, long-term teaching opportunity
✨ Opportunities to take on subject leadership or wider school responsibilities
✨ Supportive and forward-thinking senior leadership team
✨ Well-behaved, enthusiastic pupils who are eager to learn
✨ Strong focus on both academic achievement and personal development
✨ Access to high-quality CPD and career progression pathways

We’re looking for a teacher who:
✔ Has strong knowledge of the upper KS2 curriculum and high expectations for all learners
✔ Can deliver creative, engaging lessons that challenge and inspire
✔ Is committed to raising attainment and accelerating pupil progress
✔ Builds positive, professional relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
✔ Is reflective, proactive, and eager to contribute to the wider school community

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a crucial stage in pupils’ learning journey and help prepare them for a successful transition into Year 6 and beyond.

If you’re ready to inspire, challenge, and support pupils to achieve their very best, we’d love to hear from you.
