Your next teaching role could be closer than you think.

We’re working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Redbridge who are looking for a passionate Year 5 Teacher ready to inspire, challenge, and support pupils as they grow in confidence and capability in upper Key Stage 2.

Year 5 is a big year. Pupils are becoming more independent, expectations are rising, and there’s a real focus on preparing them for their final year of primary school. You’ll play a key role in helping children deepen their understanding, take ownership of their learning, and feel ready for what’s ahead, all within a team that values consistency, creativity, and genuine care.

If you enjoy stretching learners and helping them realise their potential, this could be a brilliant next step.

What you’ll be doing:
• Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons tailored to Year 5 pupils, in line with the National Curriculum
• Supporting pupils as they develop independence and prepare for the transition into Year 6
• Strengthening reading, writing, and maths to support deeper understanding and attainment
• Encouraging critical thinking, curiosity, and resilience across the curriculum
• Creating a positive, focused classroom environment where pupils feel challenged and supported
• Adapting teaching to meet the needs of SEND and EAL learners so every child can succeed
• Managing behaviour through clear expectations, consistency, and positive reinforcement
• Working closely with TAs, parents, and senior leaders to support pupil progress
• Playing an active role in the wider school community while upholding safeguarding at all times

What we’re looking for:
The right fit for this role will be someone who:
• Holds UK QTS
• Has recent experience in KS2, ideally with exposure to upper KS2
• Brings a calm, confident presence into the classroom
• Can stretch and challenge pupils while supporting their wellbeing
• Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
• Is passionate about helping children grow in confidence, independence, and resilience

Why work with Protocol Education?
We keep it simple. Honest conversations, clear communication, and schools that genuinely match what you’re looking for.

You’ll benefit from:
• Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella companies
• FREE access to our CPD Academy
• Personalised support from a dedicated consultant
• Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings
• A smooth, straightforward registration process
• A referral scheme that genuinely rewards you

Make a real difference as pupils prepare for their final chapter in primary school.

Send your CV to thomas.harrington@protocol-education.com to find out if this role feels like the right fit for you.
