KS1 Primary Teaching Assistant - Year 2
Protocol Education are working with a school in Bolton who are looking to recruit a KS1 Teaching Assistant. The post will be working in a Year 2 class supporting two children. Both children require extra support with their learning. You will be supporting them in the morning with their core subjects: Maths, English, Reading and Writing and then supporting the rest of the class in the afternoon with other National Curriculum subjects.
The school is small 1 form entry school. It has a real warm and welcoming feel with supportive and hard-working staff and children who are exceptionally well behaved.
This is a full-time position which will involve working 5 days per week starting straight after the Easter holidays until the end of the academic year July 2020. This role is to cover the cover a Teaching Assistant who is unable to return to the classroom due to health reasons. The school has also been given some extra funding to support children so could possibly be extended depending on the right candidate.
The main purpose of the job will be to support a KS1 class with their learning and provide general support for the school in different ways. This includes -
·Working with small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher
·Running interventions in the afternoons
·Giving regular feedback on children's progress
·Attending to children's personal needs including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene (depending on class working with)
·Establishing good relationships with pupils
·Display work
·Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
