Year 1 SEND Support Assistant - Gateshead Primary School

What your day-to-day will look like:
You’ll support children transitioning from EYFS into more structured learning. This includes assisting with phonics sessions, helping pupils stay engaged during lessons, and providing tailored support for those with additional needs. You’ll work closely with the class teacher to adapt activities and ensure every child feels included. A big part of your role will be building a strong rapport — encouraging confidence and celebrating small wins every day.

Working hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
• Term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
