Job description
A primary school in the heart of the vibrant Southall are looking for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join their year 1 team. The school is located in a large Victorian building and are very fortunate to have many specialist rooms for activities such as music, science, art & design, computing and an Adult Learning space.

The school provides a nurturing environment, ensuring our children grow academically, emotionally, morally and spiritually.

The ideal candidate should have:
•Experience of working in a school environment
•Experience working with children that have SEN needs
•Experience in dealing with challenging behaviour
•Knowledge of Makaton and PECS is desired but not essential
•Provide general daily support to the class teacher

•As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be responsible to support the students in the development of their learning, as well as their social, emotional and physical needs. You will be required to support the class teacher in all aspects of the school day as well as working very closely with each student in the class.

Please note the following requirements prior to applying for this position:

1. You will need to supply two years of references of which at least one must be from a school setting.
2. You must have a good level of both spoken and written English

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
