Protocol Education is proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted Good' independent Specialist FE college to recruit an outstanding Vice Principal to start in January 2018, or sooner depending on availability.

The College

This Vice Principal position will be working for a forward thinking college based in Nottinghamshire who offer specialist education to a large cohort of Post 16 young people with autism, physical and learning disabilities.


Opened over 75 years ago, the college prides itself on creating a safe environment where personalised programmes are designed to remove barriers enabling students to concentrate on key life goals, like gaining employment, moving towards independent living or progressing to further study.


The Job

The college are now recruiting for a Vice Principal who can make a real difference to their learner's experience and have genuine enthusiasm and commitment to raising standards, promoting safety and challenging the students to succeed.


As the Vice Principal you will be instrumental in delivering key operational strategies while being at the heart of further developing the excellent quality of teaching & learning to make it outstanding. You will work with a Principal who nurtures innovation in the variety of services provided and in how they are delivered.


The Person

As an experienced Senior Leader you will either currently hold a similar position, or will be looking for this as the next step in your education career. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to:


•Lead the development of quality assurance and deliver inspirational and effective leadership in teaching & learning, care delivery and therapy resources
•Steer safeguarding, promote equality and inclusion and ensure the Prevent and Fundamental Values objectives are achieved
•Define strategic objectives and support implementation plans with SMT, Leadership Forum and Governors
•Review and develop College Policies and Procedures
•Attend meetings of the Board of Governors and Committees
•Deputise for the College Principal & CEO, attend events and professionally represent the college internally and externally all times
•Profit Centre management (currently £8million expenditure annually)


You will have the ability to inspire and motivate a large workforce, with direct line management of a team managers with responsibility for 300+ delivery staff.


It will be essential that you can build and maintain strong professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, such as Ofsted (you will be the Alternate Ofsted Inspection nominee), the Care Quality Commission, Local Authorities and Multi-Agency colleagues.


Based in Nottinghamshire, the college is open to applications from candidates across the UK looking for a permanent move.
