Job description
Protocol Education SEND are working collaboratively with several Virtual Heads to support them with staff for teaching and mentoring Looked after Children (LAC).
Currently we have many roles for tutors and support staff for one to one roles with children aged 4 -16 who no longer access education in a mainstream school.

Students under the care of LAC, are in the main excluded from school and therefore are educated through alternative provisions. Positions are across Manchester with a variety of hours, part time and full-time posts.

Working with children from the LAC, you will be part of a multiple agency team all work together to support the pupils with the aim to reengage them with education.
A background in teaching and supporting across SEMH schools and challenging behaviors

The designated tutor will:
• Promote a relationship based on targets and needs set out in the IEP which will be encouraging the pupil to engage in lessons.
• Implement teaching and learning strategies for positive change.
• Be flexible as sessions can change quickly.
As the tutor, you will be responsible for:
• Planning and delivering a Timetable, reporting attendance figures and students' progress on a weekly basis, along with a general breakdown of student's engagement.
• During the placement you will need to attend pupil meetings and PEP/ LAC/ EHCP reviews.

To be considered for these tutor roles you will need to have:
• Have proven experience of teaching young people with challenging behaviors and/or mental health.
• You would need to hold a full UK driving licence and have business insurance as on occasion you may need to transport the student
