We are recruiting trainee teaching assistants with Art, Music and Drama backgrounds who are keen to apply their skills within  special needs school and secondary schools throughout the Newcastle and North Tyneside area.

As a teaching assistant you will be required to think creatively and apply your skills to sensory sessions, develop students hand eye coordination, speech & language skills, social/communication skills, speech and language skills, independence and cognitive processes. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work within a variety of different subjects such as cooking, art & music. In return you will be able to access Accredited Training and continuous professional development whilst gaining paid experience

The role:
Working full time - Monday to Friday
Engaging students through creative activities such as music, art, P.E. & cooking
One to one support focusing on students communication and hand eye coordination
Helping with sensory integration within the classroom
Working with the teacher to assess pupils' levels and ability
Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented

We are looking for individuals who are:
Experienced working with children
Dedicated to the development of students learning

To be considered for this role you must be available Monday-Friday (during time).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
