Primary School Thrive Practitioner

Location: Leeds
Salary: £92.63 - £120 per day (Depndng on experience and qualifacations)

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate / September 2026

Big feelings need brilliant support.

Not every child arrives at school ready to learn.

Some arrive carrying worries that are bigger than their book bag.

Some need help understanding their emotions before they can tackle fractions.

Others just need one trusted adult who believes in them.

That's where you come in.

We're looking for a Thrive Practitioner to join a welcoming primary school in Leeds, supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and helping them build the confidence they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

This isn't a role where every success is measured on a spreadsheet.

Sometimes success looks like a child joining a lesson they would've avoided last week.

Sometimes it's a conversation that helps a pupil feel heard.

Sometimes it's simply helping a child believe that tomorrow can be a better day.

What you'll be doing:

  • Delivering Thrive-based interventions and emotional wellbeing support
  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Helping children develop emotional resilience and self-regulation skills
  • Supporting positive behaviour through nurturing relationships
  • Working closely with teachers, SENDCOs, pastoral teams, and families
  • Creating safe spaces where children feel understood and supported

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Hold a Thrive Practitioner qualification or have experience using the Thrive Approach
  • Have experience supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Build trust and positive relationships quickly
  • Remain calm, patient, and compassionate in challenging situations
  • Believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed

The school offers:

  • A supportive and inclusive leadership team
  • A strong commitment to pupil wellbeing
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • A welcoming staff team that genuinely cares about one another
  • Opportunities to make a lasting impact on pupils' lives

Why work with Protocol Education?

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy
  • Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement
  • Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and specialist settings
  • Streamlined registration process
  • Referral scheme, earn rewards for recommending friends
