Protocol Education is looking for dependable, proactive, and hands-on Caretakers to support schools across Hackney on a short-term, daily supply basis.

This role is perfect for individuals who take pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-organised school environments and enjoy contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of school sites.

Each day offers variety and responsibility, making a real difference to staff, students, and the wider school community.

What you’ll be doing:

• Opening and closing school premises, ensuring security at all times
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety of school buildings and grounds
• Conducting routine health and safety checks
• Setting up classrooms and areas for lessons, activities, and events
• Monitoring site security and reporting any concerns promptly

You’ll need:

• Previous experience as a caretaker, site assistant, or in maintenance (preferred)
• Strong practical skills and problem-solving ability
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities effectively
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
