Job description
Teaching support jobs in Southwark for experienced LSA's/ TA's to work within an SEND school


As a SEND Support specialist (Special educational needs) LSA/TA working with pupils with SEMH (Social emotional mental health) or EBD (Emotional, behavioural difficulties), you should have the ability to inspire all those around you and make a difference in the life of an SEND pupil. You should be able to adapt to cater for pupils individual needs and abilities as well as having a creative approach when supporting pupils throughout their learning journey.

You will be responsible for working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil supporting them with their work within a classroom. You will need to be able to adapt your approach to cater for their needs and abilities.


  • Ideally, You will able to commit to at least 3-5 days per week and be able to commit to either daily supply or long term opportunities


The main responsibilities of this role will be to support student's behaviour, developing social skills , encouraging pupils to focus and give them structure to their day incorporating creative and clear structured activities. This is primarily a class based position however it's very likely you will end up doing 1:1 withdrawal sessions at some stage in order to maintain the progress of student's behaviour and learning.
