SEN Support Jobs Teaching Assistant

Looking for a role where you can truly make a difference, every single day?

We’re working with a welcoming primary school in Slough that’s on the lookout for a calm, caring SEMH Teaching Assistant. This isn’t a sit-back kind of role. It’s hands-on, heart-led, and incredibly rewarding.

You’ll be supporting pupils who need a little extra help with their social, emotional and mental health. Think relationship-building, steady encouragement, and being that consistent adult they can rely on.

What your day might look like

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups with SEMH needs
  • Helping children regulate emotions and feel safe in the classroom
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Creating a positive, structured environment where pupils can thrive
  • Celebrating the small wins, because they matter (a lot)

What the school is hoping for

  • Experience working with children with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient approach, even on the tricky days
  • Someone who builds trust naturally and leads with kindness
  • Confidence in managing behaviour positively and consistently
  • A genuine passion for helping children feel understood and supported

Why this role stands out

  • Supportive leadership team who’ve got your back
  • Training opportunities to build your SEMH skillset
  • A school that truly values its support staff, you won’t feel like “just a TA” here
  • A chance to be part of something bigger, helping children re-engage with learning and life
