Teaching Assistant - Primary School | September Start

Our friendly and inclusive primary school in Gateshead is looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team from September.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
• Assist with classroom preparation, organisation and learning resources.
• Encourage pupils to participate fully in lessons and school life.
• Provide additional support for children who require extra guidance with their learning.
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm and inclusive classroom environment.
• Observe pupil progress and share feedback with teaching staff.
• Support children during lessons, breaktimes, educational visits and school activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience working with primary-aged children (desirable but not essential).
• Be patient, enthusiastic and approachable.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be confident working as part of a team.
• Be passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
