Job description
Teaching Assistant - Personal Care


SEN Teaching Assistant role in West London. Long term starting ASAP.

A special needs school in West London split across two sites is seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work alongside other personal care teaching assistants and an experienced special needs teacher.

All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a primary school or specialist SEN environment. The class consists of 5-8 pupils with a broad range of learning difficulties and complex medical needs.

You would be working alongside a higher learning teaching assistant who has progressed through the school's CPD (continuous professional development). You will also benefit from the schools exceptional CPD and in-house training schemes.

The ideal candidate:

•A proven record of supporting SEN children with a range of needs.
•Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton
•Be willing to learn
•Have a pro-active way of working
•Able to use initiative and follow instructions


We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
