A Special Needs primary school in Greenwich specializes in educating pupils with severe and profound learning disabilities, many of the pupils have additional physical disabilities, communication difficulties and complex health needs.

As a teaching assistant, your main responsibility will be to ensure pupils reach their full potential in their academic, social, creative, personal, physical and moral development.

Responsibilities:

• Managing pupil's physical needs.
• Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
• Helping the students with their life skills.

For this role, you will have:

• Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
• Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
• Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
• Happy to work one to one and small group work.
• An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
