Job description
A lovely C of E school in Reading is looking for a Teaching Assistant to cover a maternity leave from October this year.

The role is split so for the majority of the time you will be working 1:1 with a child who has an ILP to support his learning and ensure that he is keeping on task and given the confidence and support to achieve his potential.

The other part of your role with be to support the Teacher in the classroom so you will be working with small groups assisting with the childrens work as well as helping with displays for the classrooms and all other duties associated with working as a Teaching Assistant. You will be working in a year 6 Class so experience of the year 6 SATS and helping to raise attainment is desired, and it is vital that you have confidence with the National Curriculum especially with Maths, Literacy and Science ensuring that you are able to support the teacher to deliver lessons that stretch those children who are achieving above the national average and those who may need additional support.

This position will suite a strong graduate who is looking to get into teaching to build up strong experience of working with children to possibly apply for a PGCE in future, ideally you will have some experience of working with young people in a transferable setting so please make sure to include all relevant experience on your CV when you apply.
