Protocol Education are working with a Secondary school within the North Tyneside area. The school is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their team as a Teaching Assistant!

This role involves closely working with Secondary school students, aged between 11-16 years who have special education needs and require additional support with their education in order to help students overcome the challenging barriers they may face and achieve their academic and personal objectives.

You may be working within the classroom or within the school's large SEND unit. The children you will work with may have a range of SEND, including ASC, SEMH and physical disabilities.  

While previous experience of working with children is desirable, the school is also interested in applications from graduates with an interest in working in education. Additional training may be provided to support any teaching assistant working within the school.

Skills and Qualities we are looking for includes:

- Passionate individual who is willing to work with students aged 11-16 with special educational hneeds 

- Able to actively listen and communicate with students in order to help nurture and develop them in their behavioural and academic growth

- Willing to assist in the following: group or 1:1 classroom support, SEN support, general classroom assistance, mentoring and supervising class activities

- Understand and implement school safeguarding procedures and comply with legal responsibilities

-  Provide support for various pupils facing academic and behavioural obstacles in SEND potentially including autism or physical and sensory impairments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
