Job description
I am working with a rural Secondary School based in South County Durham who are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support a busy Secondary English Department starting asap and possibly carrying on into the new academic year for the right candidate.

The applicant must have previous experience of working as an LSA/TA in an English Department. Applicants must have good knowledge of the subject and an awareness of how to challenge pupils, ensuring all students make progress.

Essential requirements:
• A Qualified Teacher Status (either a PGCE or Cert Ed.)
• Very good knowledge of the British National Curriculum and the ability to plan differentiated work.
• A valid DBS on the Update Service or willing to undertake one.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Excellent teaching references.

As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
