Location: Sunderland
Job Type: Supply Teaching
Industry: SEN Teacher | SEN Support Jobs | SEN

Salary: £60.13 - £69.37 per day
Job Published: 14 days ago
Are you a sports coach? Or Ex-police/Ex-forces?
Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour in young people? Do you have a passion for supporting the social and emotional growth of children?

We are recruiting teaching assistants and support roles for behaviour schools in Sunderland.

There are several factors affecting behaviour which can lead to a young person going to a behaviour school. In their lives they have experienced more than most adults, and certainly more than a child is prepared to process. This leads to a level of vulnerability which results in outbursts and behaviour that is not in-keeping with a mainstream school.

In your role as a teaching assistant you will be responsible for ensuring that the young people are remaining in class and completing work whilst keeping them engaged. You may be supporting multiple learners in one class as additional help to the teacher; you may also be supporting students 1:1.

To be successful in this role you must:
• Be calm and caring
• Not take yourself too seriously and be prepared to have some banter with the kids.
• Be resilient
• Have experience of working with young people (including volunteering)
• Be available to work 3-5 days per week
• Hold an updated DBS check (or willing to obtain one)
• Have the right to work in the UK

What Protocol Education can offer you:
• Excellent rates of pay
• Flexible work
• Short-term, long-term, and permanent placements.
• Our commitment to finding you the right school and opportunity.
• Support through all placements
• Eligibility to take part in free training days run by Protocol

We have an array of exclusive positions in Newcastle and North Tyneside for temporary and permanent contracts. To sign up or to have a confidential chat call Emily on 0191 279 7270 or email her at Emily.gordon@protocol-education.com. Our term time opening hours are 7am-6:30pm Monday to Friday.

Please note. We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £40.00
