Arabic-Speaking SEND Teaching Assistant

Are you fluent in Arabic and English and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs?

A friendly and inclusive secondary school in Orpington is looking to appoint a dedicated Arabic-speaking SEND Teaching Assistant for a rewarding full-time role starting in September 2026.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact by providing 1:1 support to a secondary-aged student with SEND, helping them build confidence, achieve their potential and thrive both academically and socially.

Your Role

As a valued member of the school's SEND team, you will:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Help the student access learning and engage confidently in lessons.
  • Encourage independence, emotional wellbeing and positive social interaction.
  • Use your Arabic language skills to support effective communication where needed, including liaising appropriately with the student's family.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to deliver personalised support.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

✔ Speaks fluent Arabic and English
✔ Is available Monday to Friday during school hours
✔ Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH or additional needs (or transferable experience)
✔ Is patient, caring, resilient and proactive
✔ Can build positive relationships and inspire confidence
✔ Can travel to Orpington and start in September 2026

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
