Job description
Teaching Assistant job available in the Berkshire area.

Are you an experienced teaching assistant with special needs or mental health experience looking for a new role?

An adolescent unit in the Wokingham borough is looking for an experienced learning support assistant/teaching assistant for one of their secondary classes. The pupils in the class have severe mental health issues and some anorexia. Most are gifted learners. The role is to start in October and may be on a part time basis, with the opportunity to extend to full time for the right person. The vacancy is permanent.

To be successful in your application you must have some experience working with children with special needs or mental health in a classroom or non classroom environment and be a proactive and personable team player. You will need to be able to work on your feet for much of the day as well as having a resilient character. Your personality and ability to remain calm in stressful situations is ar more important than your experience.
