A learning support assistant is required to work in a Newcastle Secondary School. This is a full time role (term time only), to begin in September 2022.. The successful learning support assistant will likely become permanent after a period of initial hire through Protocol Education.
As part of your role you will provide academic and pastoral support to children aged 11-16 year, whom the majority of pupils have SEND, including ADHD, SEMH and ASC. You will assist in learning across the curriculum.
The school will consider individuals from a range of backgrounds for the role of learning support assistant. This includes graduates interested in a career in teaching or educational psychology and individuals who have experience of working with Special Educational Needs and challenging behaviour. The role might be suitable for former police (with experience of working in non-uniform positions) and youth workers.
The school is located in the west of Newcastle, within easy reach of the A1, making travel from the surrounding areas possible.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
