Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Sheffield. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing, helping to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
• Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and independence.
• Support the management of classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
• Assist with playground, lunchtime, and extracurricular activities as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A patient, caring, and supportive approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
