About the Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Barnsley. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers with classroom activities and lesson preparation.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Assist pupils with their learning and development.
• Help create a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Assist with classroom organisation and learning resources.
• Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other members of the school team.

Experience

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within a school environment is desirable but not essential.
