Teaching Assistant – September Start (Earlier Start Available)

We are looking for a resilient, confident and engaging Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in South Tyneside. Situated within easy reach of Hebburn, Jarrow, South Shields, Gateshead and Sunderland, the school serves a diverse community and prides itself on helping every young person achieve their potential.

This is a general Teaching Assistant role, supporting students across a range of subjects and year groups. However, the successful candidate must be particularly strong in managing behaviour, de-escalating situations and building positive relationships with students who may present additional challenges.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting.
• Is confident supporting students with behavioural needs.
• Can remain calm, professional and consistent when faced with challenging situations.
• Has a good sense of humour and plenty of personality.
• Builds trust and rapport quickly with students and staff.
• Is proactive, reliable and willing to get involved in all aspects of school life.

Start Date: September 2026, although an earlier start is available for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
