Job description
Do you feel you can make a difference in a young student life who has Autism? Then this role may be right for you.

Protocol Education are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who really wants to make a difference and help a severely Autistic child connect with the rest of the world. The School is based in the borough of Hackney, around Shacklewell/Newington Green.

The school prides itself in giving each pupil the time and support to grow and a great experience in education.

Well for this role and school, the right attitude goes a long way, encouraging and passionate is a bonus for this school. Not only are we looking for people with extensive knowledge of Autism but happy to see people who have a genuine interest and passion for it.

Over the years, different diagnostic labels have been used, such as autism, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), autism spectrum condition (ASC), classic autism, Kanner autism, pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), high-functioning autism (HFA), Asperger syndrome and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)

Are you able to commit to a SEN school for five days a week? Are you happy to commit to a full academic year? Are you open to working with children who are verbal and nonverbal? Other experience and qualifications which is preferable:
• Confidence implementing support techniques, such as PEC's & Makaton
• Team Teach qualified


Successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory references, as well as possessing an up to date DBS or be willing to apply for one through Protocol Education.
