Protocol SEND provision are working with a pupil-centred focused Deaf School who cater from Nursery up to the age of 19. This can be extended into further education through a Communication Specialist College.
Pupils have a range of communication needs who attend the school and they aim to teach the curriculum through the pupil’s preferred language, aiming to achieve high standards of education, develop a positive self-image, self-esteem and self-respect among pupils.
This outstanding school are looking to employ a primary teacher who can deliver effective and creative lessons engaging the pupils to learn and develop. The successful candidate will have to have BSL level 2 or equivalent and specialist early years knowledge in order to plan effective lessons. Other duties for this position are below.
Review medical/audiological information relating to the student’s performance and probable use of hearing and obtain updated medical/audiological information to share with parent, teacher, and other appropriate staff.
Contribute to term and annual reviews for each pupil in order to keep EHCP updated and accurate to the pupils learning.
Work closely with Teaching Assistants, External Professionals speech therapists and other members of the school to provide the best care for each pupil individually.
