Teacher of Engineering – T Level & AAQ Engineering

College Setting | 3 Days per Week | September 2026 Start

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Teacher of Engineering to join a college from September 2026, teaching across both the T Level Engineering programme and the single AAQ Engineering qualification.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering teacher or industry professional with teaching experience who can bring strong technical knowledge and practical expertise into the classroom and workshop.

The Role

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across the Engineering curriculum, supporting students to develop both their theoretical understanding and practical engineering skills.

You will contribute to the delivery of T Level Engineering and the AAQ Engineering qualification, preparing engaging lessons and supporting students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective Engineering lessons across T Level and AAQ programmes
  • Plan and prepare lessons in line with curriculum and qualification requirements
  • Develop students' theoretical knowledge alongside practical engineering skills
  • Support students in workshop-based activities and practical assessments
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety within practical environments
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Engineering department

The Ideal Candidate

Applicants must have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a closely related subject
  • Previous classroom teaching experience, gained within either a school or college setting
  • Strong technical knowledge of Engineering
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to supporting students to achieve high standards

Practical experience within an engineering workshop environment would be highly advantageous, particularly experience in:

  • Fabrication
  • Welding
  • Casting
  • Milling
  • Turning
  • CNC machining
  • Manual machining

Start Date: September 2026
Working Pattern: 3 days per week
Subjects: T Level Engineering & AAQ Engineering

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
